"NOAA Compensatory Mitigation Policy" Tuesday, May 2, 2017 (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET)
Mitigation, the avoidance and minimization of and compensation for adverse effects to species and habitats, is an important component of many National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) programs and an evolving aspect of natural resources management. During the next DoD Natural Resources webinar, Susan-Marie Stedman with NOAA will provide an overview of the compensatory mitigation policy that NOAA is developing to address mitigation issues encountered across the U.S., as well as mitigation issues that are unique or of particular importance in coastal areas. The webinar will also describe NOAA's efforts to scope issues for the mitigation policy by talking with stakeholders to determine the most important mitigation issues in coastal areas.
