Dear all,

As many of you already know, theSAPFLUXNET project <sapfluxnet.creaf.cat>is compiling the first*global database of sap flow*measurements. We would like to thank all of you that have already contributed with your data sets. Our initiative was presented in arecent paper in Tree Physiology <https://academic.oup.com/treephys/article-abstract/36/12/1449/2571314/SAPFLUXNET-towards-a-global-database-of-sap-flow?redirectedFrom=fulltext>[1] and thenumber of data sets is increasing rapidly <http://sapfluxnet.creaf.cat/shiny/sfn_progress_dashboard/> [2].

This communication is to announce that the*data contribution stage will end on 30th June 2017*. This means that/we cannot guarantee that data received after this deadline can be included in the first release of the SAPFLUXNET database/. As a brief reminder, data contributors (1) will be granted*access to the database one year before*the entire scientific community, (2) will*co-author a data paper*associated with the first release of SAPFLUXNET and (3) will be*offered co-authorship on the paper*synthesizing global sap flow patterns,/only if their data sets are used in the analyses/.

Please check thewiki page in our website <https://github.com/sapfluxnet/sapfluxnet-public/wiki#sapfluxnet-wiki>[4] for more details on the data policy, data acceptance criteria, data formats and guidelines on the data contribution process. Minor changes have been applied to the Data Policy, mainly to update the project members and the timeline.

There is still time to contribute to the SAPFLUXNET initiative! We will soon present updates on the project in the European Geosciences Union General Assembly in Viena, Austria and in the International Workshop on Sap Flow in Fullerton, CA, USA.

You have received these project updates via email because you are a data contributor or because we have identified you as a potential data contributor. Please let us know if you want to be removed from this email list to stop receiving updates.

Best regards,

Rafael Poyatos & Víctor Granda

On behalf of the SAPFLUXNET team
