Feline Monitoring Program seeking volunteers for 2017 season; ongoing research monitoring populations at Aula Global Biological Reserve of oncilla, puma, jaguar, and other cat species. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; general reserve maintenance, placement and maintenance of game cameras, placement and maintenance of track pads, detailed field notes and observations, and digitizing collected data. Program is tailored to undergraduate students and is ideal for those looking to supplement classroom learning with applied fieldwork. No prior experience is necessary, though participants should bring with them an enthusiasm for wildlife and their natural environments. Lodging is rustic and dormitory-style, and participants should be aware that this program is physically demanding, requiring hiking over uneven and steep rainforest terrain. 2017 Dates are as follows: March 12th - 18th, March 19th - 25th. Cost is $250/session and covers transportation from Monteverde to the reserve, all trip meals and lodging, and technical equipment. Attending back-to-back sessions is optional.
