I am seeking a MS student to join my research group (www.jamiesonlab.com) in the Department of Biological Sciences at Oakland University (www.oakland.edu/biology) for the Winter 2017 semester. Oakland University is located in southeast Michigan in the greater Detroit metropolitan area, between the communities of Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills.
The student will work on research examining plant and insect ecology within the context of urban agriculture. Students may develop projects involving beneficial and pest insects, pollinator conservation, restoration or chemical ecology. Currently, we are studying how local and landscape scale factors influence strawberry production in urban gardens and farms in addition to the chemical ecology of strawberry secondary metabolites and plant-insect interactions. Interested candidates should provide a curriculum vitae with GRE scores and GPA as well as a brief description of research interests. A graduate stipend and tuition waiver will be provided to qualified candidates. Priority deadline for admissions is November 1st, and GRE scores must be available by Nov. 1st. Prospective candidates must have a 3.0+ GPA and GRE scores in at least the 49th percentile to qualify for admissions to the graduate program. Please email application materials and inquiries to [email protected].
