Join us TODAY, October 6th at 3:00 pm ET
for the first presentation in
CUAHSI's 2016 Fall Cyberseminar Series Featuring the
NOAA National Water Model
________________________________

The National Water Model predicts continental water flow across the nation by
using data from more than 8,000 U.S. Geological Survey gauges to simulate
conditions for 2.7 million locations in the contiguous United States. Using the
National Water Model, forecasts for the entire river network can be generated
hourly. The National Water Model was launched last month and is seen as a
monumental advancement for flood forecasting and the ability to make informed
water-related decisions. CUAHSI has been involved in the implementation of the
National Water Model by engaging graduate students and the academic research
community through the National Water Center Innovators Program Summer
Institute, which takes place at the National Water Center in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama.

This cyberseminar series will discuss the National Weather Service's vision for
the National Water Model, as well as provide an overview regarding the
underlying technology of the model. Additionally, highlights from last year's
Summer Institute will be presented, followed by information regarding the plans
for next year's Summer Institute and how interested community members can be
involved.

Attendance is free and everyone is welcome to join! No advance registration is
required.
Cyberseminars will be recorded and posted online for later viewing. More
