A MS position, funded by NAS Gulf Research Program, is available in the 
Division of Coastal Sciences, School of Ocean Science and Technology, 
The University of Southern Mississippi ((http://usm.edu/gcrl). The 
campus is located in Ocean Springs on Mississippi Gulf Coast, 1.5 hours 
away from New Orleans. The new graduate student is expected to start in 
spring semester of 2017, and will conduct research on developing multi-
scale models for carbon dynamics in coastal wetlands and the impact of 
sea level rise on landscape of coastal wetlands in the northern Gulf of 
Mexico region. Applicants should have a BS in ecology, statistics, or a 
closely related field. Experiences in carbon research, Bayesian 
statistics, modeling, or GIS/Remote Sensing are desirable but not 
required.
