Hello Everyone,

I have a growing population (>1,000) of images taken from epidermal peels
(=finger nail polish) on both the ab & adaxial surface of Balsam Poplar leaves.
I need to estimate stomatal density from these images and I really don't want
to count these by hand. I would like to use a script made with ImageJ to count
the number of stomata present in an image. After much searching I've come up
with a lot of low-throughput methods for image analysis, but nothing that will
work for thousands of images.

A few questions: where can I find a google group, or an online place that
contains the kind of knowledge I need to answer questions about plant cell
image analysis & segmentation problems?

Who are the labs/people doing this work that I should be in touch with?

Is anyone aware of workshops I could attend to learn these skills?

Does someone have a script/work flow they could send me to help me along?

Thanks so much for the help & advice.

Sincerely,

Karl Fetter
