The National Park Service Inventory & Monitoring Network based in Rapid City, SD is looking to hire 4 biological technicians to assist with our vegetation monitoring program. Our mission is to monitor the condition of vegetation in 11 park units throughout the Northern Great Plains in Nebraska, Wyoming, and North and South Dakota. This includes work in Badlands, Wind Cave, and Theodore Roosevelt National Parks and Devils Tower National Monument. The positions involve identifying hundreds of plant species and a combination of office work, field time, and travel to the parks.
These are permanent subject-to-furlough jobs with the federal government. Two positions will be crew leaders. These will be paid for 9 months per year (March-December) starting at $17.26 per hour plus retirement/health benefits. Two additional positions will be hired as crew members starting at $15.49 per hour plus benefits.
