Position Summary: The AmeriCorps Stewardship Assistant
participates in preserve operations, maintenance and restoration at
various preserves throughout Arizona, dividing the time between Aravaipa
Preserve, Ramsey Canyon Preserve, and Hart Prairie Preserve.
*_AmeriCorps Verde River Technician 44462_* This AmeriCorps position
will engage community members in implementation of the Verde River Flow
and Habitat Restoration Initiative with the Conservancy and partners at
Friends of Verde River Greenway and Verde Natural Resource Conservation
District. This initiative is aimed at improving riparian health by
removing non-native invasive plants and restoring flow to Verde River by
partnering with agricultural water users. Work will be focused in the
Verde Valley but opportunities for travel will occur.
*_AmeriCorps Youth Education Outreach Coordinator 44466_*
Position Summary: This AmeriCorps position works with a Nature
Conservancy partner, AZ Project WET, to present water conservation
training and activities for students, enabling them to become better
water stewards by learning about their watershed, taking action to save
water and developing scientific questions to study the health of
riparian waters.
*_AmeriCorps SE AZ Environmental Education Outreach Coordinator 44452_*
Position Summary: The AmeriCorps Environmental
Education Outreach Coordinator Will coordinate volunteers to help
provide outreach to local communities and provide environmental
education experiences, will develop curricula that will lead to
knowledge and understanding of the values and benefits of an environment
that supports plants, animals and human life on earth.
