If you are a student giving a statistical ecology talk at the ESA meeting in
Ft. Lauderdale, please consider entering yourself in the Pielou award
competition. Email Beth Gardner at [email protected] with the subject "Pielou
award entry" if you want to be evaluated for the E.C. Pielou award. Please
see the details below for information about the award and eligibility. If
you are advising a student who would be a good candidate, encourage them to
participate. You can join the statistical ecology section this year, still
plenty of time before the meeting!

Email me by July 1 to enter the competition. Please let me know the title
and, if you have this information, the date, time, location, and session code
(e.g. COS-31) of your presentation. If you haven't been scheduled in a
session yet, you can send me that information later but please let me know
now that you want to enter the competition.

We also need judges for the award! If you are willing to help out as a
judge, which usually involves evaluating just 2-3 presentations, please email
with the subject "Pielou award judge".

Look forward to seeing you all in August in Ft. Lauderdale!!

Cheers,
Beth Gardner
