Hybrid Teaching/Research Postdoc (Plant-Mycorrhizal Interactions)
The Department of Biology at The College of Charleston
(http://biology.cofc.edu/) invites applicants for a hybrid teaching/research
postdoctoral position to work on the biology of fine roots and mycorrhizal
fungi. In addition to participating in belowground research, the successful
candidate will teach a half-time load (i.e., typically 6 contact hours per
semester). Courses may include introductory biology for majors and non-majors,
a sophomore level course in ecology, and/or courses in environmental and
sustainability studies. The remaining time will be devoted to research
involving undergraduates and possibly graduate students. Candidates should
have a Ph.D. in Biology, Plant Biology, Ecology, Plant Physiology,
Microbiology, or a closely related field. The exact area of research is
somewhat flexible although the candidate will be expected to contribute to
ongoing research on the dynamics of fine root and mycorrhizal interactions
during root senescence. The initial appointment will be for two years with the
possibility of renewal. Apply at https://jobs.cofc.edu/postings/5014. For
