The Department of Environmental Studies at Antioch University New England
(AUNE) anticipates a position opening starting August 2016 for a full-time,
visiting faculty appointment in its innovative, interdisciplinary graduate
department with programs leading to Master’s and Doctoral degrees in
Environmental Studies. The selected candidate will teach graduate courses
and advise graduate students.

We seek a collaborative and highly motivated faculty member who is
enthusiastic about innovative and interdisciplinary teaching and learning.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in landscape ecology,
physical/biogeography, conservation biology, ecology, or related fields. 
The desired candidate will have a track record of quality teaching,
professional collaboration, applied research, peer-reviewed publications and
community engagement. 

This is a 1 year, faculty appointment in the Department of Environmental
Studies. The position requires engagement with student learning on a
semester basis, teaching face-to-face or hybrid courses (weekday and weekend
delivery models with a combination of classroom and on-line learning). The
teaching load is 18 credits per academic year. The selected candidate will
manage the AUNE Center of Spatial Analysis and Remote Sensing, and teach
graduate courses at the introductory and advanced GIS level and
biostatistics, in addition to graduate courses on topics such as landscape
ecology, earth system science, community ecology, landuse and community
planning.  Active engagement in student learning via classes, individual
advising on data analysis and feedback on written work is required.  Active
participation in all faculty meetings is expected.
