Hello, I'm looking to install some 2" monitoring wells in an area surrounding a desert spring that contains gravelly, loose alluvial material and is scoured by heavy rains every few years. I'm planning on driving them no deeper than 6 feet. Does anyone have suggestions for 1) augering methods for loose materials (ie., hollow tube, driven well point, or helical auger?), and 2) suggestions for strengthening the set-up so it (hopefully) won't wash away?
