The successful applicant will contribute to the success of a recently NSF-funded project to explore how biogeochemical processes in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems influence fluxes of key greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, using laboratory, field, and/or modeling approaches. The post-doctoral researcher will have the opportunity to build on any of several on-going projects, based on his or her skill sets. *Job Description* 45% - Conduct experiments in a laboratory, field, or modeling setting to explore the influence hydrologic variation on soil GHG fluxes and redox biogeochemistry. 45% - Analyze experimental results, travel to conferences to present results, write manuscripts of sufficient quality for publication in top-rated journals, and assist in model development as relevant. 10% - Supervise undergraduates, provide mentoring as needed to graduate students, assist lab members with laboratory maintenance, and contribute to an intellectually stimulating, educational environment for all lab members. *Required Qualifications* Ph.D. at the time of appointment in ecosystem ecology, Earth system science, biogeochemistry or a related field. Experience measuring or modeling fluxes of Greenhouse gases. Knowledge of soil or aquatic biogeochemistry. Excellent mathematical and spoken and written English language skills. NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD conferred at the time of hire. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an acting basis not to exceed six months. Upon verification of degree the appointment will be extended to its full duration. *Preferred Qualifications* Experience in a field or laboratory setting manipulating environments to test relationships between hydrologic variation and soil biogeochemistry. Experience working with modeling and large datasets.
