REU Site: Environmental Science and Policy in the Nation’s Capital Georgetown University Summer 2016
We anticipate that Georgetown University’s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site program — Environmental Science and Policy in the Nation’s Capital — will be funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation (award is pending). This ten-week program will bring a cohort of students to Washington DC to conduct research in environmental science at Georgetown University and to take part in a mini-curriculum that explores the intersections of science and policy. Participating research mentors have expertise in various aspects of environmental science and policy. The 2016 program will run from May 31 - August 5. Students will be housed on campus and will receive a $5250 stipend plus a $750 allowance for food. We are striving for a diverse group, so students from populations typically underrepresented in STEM fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Review of applications will begin on February 15, 2016.
