Hello.

I would greatly appreciate it if the following advertisement for a PhD
student was posted on Ecolog.

Sincerely,

Keith Edwards

The Laboratory of Soil Biology, Department of Ecosystem Biology of the
University of South Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, is looking
for a Ph.D. student to work on a new grant-supported project dealing with
plant-soil-microbe interactions. The focus of the project is on
determining the role of plant C:N stoichiometry in affecting rhizosphere
processes and functions, including changes to the quantity and quality of
plant root exudates, soil microbial community composition, exoenzymatic
activity, microbial N transformations, and mineralization of stabilized
soil organic matter (rhizosphere priming effect). We are looking for an
active, hard-working student, knowledgeable in soil biology/ecology or
plant eco-physiology. In return, we offer a chance to work in well-
equipped laboratories as part of a highly-motivated yet friendly team of
senior scientists, students and technicians.
Interested students should send a copy of their CV, as well as a letter
explaining their area of interest and how it may relate to the project
topic, to either:

Eva Kastovska, Ph.D.(project PI) – [email protected]
or
Assoc. Prof. Keith Edwards, Ph.D. – [email protected]
