The School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking applicants for a
12-month tenure-track position of Vertebrate Ecology at the rank of
Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a
basic and applied research program in evolution, ecology, conservation, and
management of vertebrates; contribute to the undergraduate and graduate
programs of the School; and develop a research program that complements
existing strengths of the Applied Ecology faculty in the School. The
appointment will be 50% teaching, 50% research.

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in a relevant field of study (e.g.,
Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Management) at time
of appointment; strong record of research and scholarly activities in the
field of vertebrate ecology including publications in peer-reviewed
journals and evidence of development of proposals for externally-funded
grants; experience and demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching;
capacity to teach courses in vertebrate zoology and mammalogy; and a proven
ability to communicate effectively with students, professionals, and the
general public.

Preferred Qualifications: Relevant post-doctoral experience; relevant
experience addressing applied or basic questions related to ecology of
mammals in managed systems; experience working with resource management
organizations (e.g., local, state, federal).
