Texas State University invites applications for the position of Associate
Vice President for Research and Federal  Relations. Texas State University

The successful candidate will provide vision and leadership in support of
progression toward National Research University Funding eligibility. We are
seeking candidates who have a collaborative leadership style that fosters

Required  Qualifications:
-Earned doctorate from an accredited institution
-Established record of sustained peer-reviewed scholarship
-Sustained record serving as principal investigator of competitive,
federally funded research within an academic environment
-Established record of research program oversight with supervision and mentoring
-Record of effective leadership, management, and organizational skills
-Experience with interdisciplinary grant development

Preferred  Qualifications:
-Commitment to diversity in research, leadership, and recruitment and
retention from diverse and multicultural backgrounds
-Experience in developing multi-institutional research programs
-Understanding of intellectual property and/or industry-sponsored research
-Experience cultivating federal, state, and local relations
-Experience serving on national grant review panels
-Established relationships with program officers and administrators of major
funding agencies
-Experience in funding mechanisms for research infrastructure development
-Knowledge of grant proposal development in a broad range of disciplines
