Dear Colleague, please support: The Unknown Glider campaign aims to describe and conserve the Northern Savanna Glider; a species previously thought to be a sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps ariel), and now most likely a species new to science. It is the only glider known from northern Australia and is a species we know remarkably little about, despite its broad distribution. With your support, we will officially describe this enigmatic species using genetic and morphological tools. We must also conduct surveys across vast areas of the NT to help us understand how this unique species lives. We need to investigate where they are found, the habitat they need, when they breed, how big populations are and how they respond to fire and other threats like predators. Without this basic information we cannot conserve the northern savanna glider. It would be a travesty if we lost this charismatic creature before we even knew what it was. With your assistance we can continue to describe and study this species so we can conserve it for the future. It is an exciting time at CDU, for the first time ever our public can contribute directly to our research. There are also some great rewards on offer, including Guided glider spotlighting trips and First Dog on the Moon original prints. Please visit the Unknown Glider campaign page<http://riel.cmail19.com/t/d-i-jijytiy-l-y/> for more information. Best wishes, Professor Sue Carthew
