The Environmental Studies Program at the University of Colorado Boulder
announces a new master's program:

Masters of the Environment with specializations in Policy & Management,
Planning & Community Engagement, and Renewable & Sustainable Energy. Now
accepting applications for Fall 2016.

Program Overview:

CU-Boulder's Masters of the Environment (MENV) is a professional degree program
that prepares students for leadership in a wide range of careers in the
environment, energy, and planning. Designed for early and mid-career
professionals, students take courses that equip them to solve real world
environmental and natural resource problems and to effectively engage with
stakeholders in decision-making processes.

CU-Boulder's MENV program will prepare new leaders at the local, state,
national, and global levels to sustain the long-term health of the planet and
pursue sustainable development. MENV graduates will apply interdisciplinary
knowledge and build community in ways that achieve fair, effective, and
market-friendly solutions to environmental and social problems. Students will
leave the program able to promote thriving human and natural communities that
balance concerns for environmental health, economic wellbeing, and social
equity.

MENV Requirements

The CU-Boulder Masters of the Environment degree is a 42-credit, 17-month
program. MENV students will have the choice to specialize in Policy and
Management, Planning and Community Engagement, or Renewable and Sustainable
Energy.

This curriculum will provide students with training in leadership, as well as
the tools necessary to tackle the environmental, energy, and planning
challenges of the 21st century.

All MENV students will take a common set of core requirements, and undertake a
yearlong, capstone project in conjunction with a partnering organization. These
might include the National Park Service, a City of Boulder Planning Department,
private industry, or an environmental advocacy organization, amongst many
others. Students will also be required to take a series of elective courses.
These can be chosen from CU-Boulder's wide array of graduate-level courses in
the environment, planning, energy, and more.
