A PhD position is available starting in Fall 2016 to join the Barton
Lab in the Department of Botany, University of Hawaii at Manoa. The
student will be supported on a graduate assistantship to contribute
to a study examining the role of plant functional traits in the
invasion dynamics of Hawaiian wet and dry forests. Research will be
conducted in both the greenhouse and field, and students will gain
expertise in a range of plant ecophysiological tools as well as
experience in tropical plant ecology. Students will be expected to
develop their own research project directly related to the funded
research, or in other areas of plant ecology. Please see the lab
website for further information about current research foci
(<http://seedlingscience.org>seedlingscience.org).
Interested students should send an email to Kasey Barton
(<mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]) describing their
educational and research experience and a statement of graduate
research interests.
