Hello all, We are pleased to announce the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution/la Société Canadienne dÉcologie et dÉvolution Annual Meeting, which will be held in St. Johns, Newfoundland and Labrador July 7-11, 2016.
CALL FOR SYMPOSIA Rather than a conference theme, this year we have more of a conference sentiment, captured by a line from the Ode to Newfoundland: From windswept land to spindrift swirl". Our goal is for conference symposia and sessions to address questions in ecology and evolution that transcend systems; we encourage symposium proposals that address research questions with a suite of speakers who together work across a number of diverse systems; however, we will consider all submitted proposals. Please submit your symposium proposal to carissa [dot] brown [at] mun [dot] ca by NOVEMBER 16, including the following information: Title Description of symposium (200-250 words; theme, etc.) List of 6 suggested speakers, their affiliations, and tentative presentation titles An indication of whether the speaker has confirmed their participation ****Each proposal may include a nomination for a plenary speaker for the conference who fits with your symposium theme. If selected, your nominee will receive a grant to defray the costs of travel to the conference***** For more information, please email me at the above email address. CALL FOR WORKSHOPS We welcome proposals for workshops for the 2016 meeting. Workshops will run on Thursday, July 7, 2016 and can be organized for a full day, morning, afternoon, or 1-2 hours. There is also the opportunity for short 50 minute workshops to be run over the lunch hour during the scientific program of the meeting, July 8-10.
