Stockton University is seeking to fill a tenure track position, at the rank
of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the area of Marine Science
with a specialization in Marine Invertebrate Biology / Ecology for September
2016. The candidate should be qualified to teach Introduction to Marine
Biology, Invertebrate Zoology, Ecology, and upper level 
Marine Science courses. Teaching load is 12 hours each semester and could
consist of lecture and lab sections, as well as course offerings in the
University’s General Studies “commons.” 

Stockton University is an innovative liberal arts and sciences University,
currently ranked among the top ten public Masters institutions in the
northeast. The University is located in the Pinelands National Reserve in
southern New Jersey on 1600 acres, about one hour from Philadelphia, two 
hours from New York City, three hours from the Baltimore/Washington area,
and 20 minutes from Atlantic City.  The University offers a diverse array of
undergraduate programs in the sciences and operates a well-equipped
coastal/marine Field Station minutes from campus. A new 66,000 sq. ft.
Unified Science Center opened in September, 2013, with a second 60,000 
sq. ft. Science Building presently in the programming and design phase.
Stockton provides vast opportunities for interdisciplinary academic,
scholarly, and pedagogic development in the sciences and mathematics.


Qualifications

PhD is required for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor. 
Excellent teaching and scholarship is expected. Postdoctoral experience in
Marine Biology / Ecology is a plus; research interests might include, but
are not limited to, marine and estuarine invertebrates. Interests in marine
survey methods, remote sensing and/or marine technology are also desirable.
Academic experience with culturally diverse populations desired.
