The Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University has a very active ecology and evolutionary biology group. Our faculty have research programs in ecological theory (Karen Abbott and Robin Snyder), plant community ecology and phylogenetics (Jean Burns), amphibian ecology, evolution and conservation (Mike Benard), biotic and abiotic drivers of adaptive evolution (Ryan Martin), and consequences of climate and land-use change (Sarah Diamond). Nearby opportunities for research and collaboration exist at the University Farm, Holden Arboretum, Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the large Cleveland Metroparks system.
