Assistant Professor Position, Biological Sciences

Full-Time, Tenure Track, 2016 Fall Semester

Benedictine University is a Catholic liberal arts institution located in the

metropolitan Chicago with nationally recognized undergraduate programs in the 
sciences.

sciences and,

Position Description: The Department of Biological Sciences invites 
applications for a full-
time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 
2016. We seek a 
candidate with expertise in the area of comparative physiology. The area of 
specialization is 
open, but preference will be given to applicants who will add to the breadth of 
taxonomic 
expertise in our department while being able to build connections in such areas 
such as 
ecology, systems biology, computational biology, or other subspecialties.
 
Applicants should be willing and able to teach some combination of comparative 
physiology, 
human physiology, introductory biology for majors, and/ or upper-level 
coursework in the 
applicant’s area of expertise.

The successful candidate will establish and participate in faculty/student 
research at the 
undergraduate level.  Startup funds available.
 
Qualifications:  A Ph.D. degree, postdoctoral experience, successful prior 
experience in 
teaching undergraduates, and a strong commitment to involving undergraduates in 
research 
are required. Candidates must have legal authority to work in the USA.
