Dear Botanists and Plant Ecologists ,

We are seeking plant enthusiasts that would like to assist in gathering
post-eruption field measurements at the Mount St. Helens volcano,
Washington State. This activity is part of the 35th anniversary event of
the 1980 eruption this coming July 26-Aug 1st, where ecologists from across
the country and beyond will convene at the volcano to gather measurements
on the ecological status of the area. It will be an opportunity to see
first-hand how these systems are responding to catastrophic disturbance and
to learn key lessons on the fascinating ecological change that has
unfolded since the eruption. We are seeking volunteers that would like to
get involved with gathering these important benchmark measurements of our
long-term vegetation plots. Food and well-equipped campsites area
provided. Additional dates, both before and after, July 26-August 1st, are
available.

Please spread the word within your networks about this opportunity.
