I have funding to purchase a sub-meter accuracy, hand-held GPS unit. I saw a recent post where someone was saying they used and recommended the Trimble 6000 series. I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Trimble 7x series. My specific question is about the difference between the 7X decimeter (Trimble Geo 7X handheld with rangefinder (H-Star, Floodlight, NMEA) - WEHH 6.5) and 7X centimeter (Trimble Geo 7 Series Premium Centimeter Kit with TerraSync Centimeter Edition). Is it really worth the extra $5K for the centimeter version? I am not really familiar with these and am wondering if the difference is worth it. Any comments would be appreciated.
