The Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station has two exciting
employment opportunities for current and recent undergraduates
interested in science and environmental education for summer 2015.

*Summer**Conservation and Education Assistant*
One eight week position (June 8-July 31) is available as support staff
for our elementary (K-5), middle school (grades 6-8), and junior high
(grades 9-10) summer education programs. Applicants must have completed
or be working towards a BA/BS degree, preferably in a science related
field. The CEA is responsible for assisting in curricula development and
daily instruction for summer education programs, developing a guided
hike for the general public on a topic of their interest, trail
assessments and minor trail maintenance, assisting with data collection
as part of the Preserve’s conservation monitoring programs, and
providing general support to Preserve staff.
*Residential Coordinator and Field Teaching Assistant*
RCTAs act as support staff for three sessions of the Preserve's
three-week high school summer ecology course, Wildlife Ecology Research

Two eleven week positions (June 8-August 24) are available. Applicants
must have completed a BA/BS degree, preferably in a science related
field. Staff is responsible for providing student supervision before and
after classes each day, overnight, and on occasional non-academic days.
Additionally, staff is responsible for shopping for food; assisting
students with meal planning and preparation; overseeing the completion
of household duties; planning evening and non-academic day activities;
and assisting students with nightly assignments. Staff will also have
the opportunity to act as a teaching assistant for field based classes.
