ESA Early Career mentoring: Call for applications The Early Career Ecologist Section of the Ecological Society of America is pleased to now accept applications to participate in its Centennial Mentoring Program. With support from ESA's Centennial Committee, this program will pair early career ecologists - advanced graduate students (within 1 year of graduating) and recent post-graduates (within 3 years of obtaining their degree) - with established ecologists in their desired career pathway for the week of the 2015 ESA annual meeting.
Successful early career mentees with receive: 1) one-on-one interactions with a more senior ecology professional in the mentee's general research area and career pathway of interest 2) evaluation and advice from their mentor on their oral presentation (on any topic or in any session) at the ESA annual meeting 3) broad exposure of their professional profile on the ESA and/or ECE Section website 4) a continuing opportunity to expand their mentoring and professional networks into the future after the meeting has ended 5) $200 reimbursement to defray the cost of ESA registration fees and meeting-related expenses (e.g. travel and lodging) Applicants must commit to attending at least 3 full days of the ESA meeting and to giving an oral presentation.
