This meeting convenes leaders to launch a Second Century of stewardship for
parks, 100 years after the gathering by Stephen Mather and Horace Albright
at UC Berkeley that called for creation of the National Park Service. The
program features a keynote speech on the mission of parks by Edward O.
Wilson; plus 16 plenary lectures by leading natural, physical, and social
scientists as well as 100 accepted speakers in concurrent sessions on
Friday March 27, with posters presented Thursday March 26 and Friday March
27.
