Ecolog-ers,

I'm starting a project on an annual plant (*Trichostema laxum
<http://naturalmusing.blogspot.com/2015/01/beginning-research-floral-polymorphisms.html>*)
that will require a great deal of crosses and examining various
morphological and phenological traits of parents/offspring/field
populations.

I've been doing the databasing in excel, but I am wondering whether anyone (
*Arabidopsis* and *Drosophila* folks, especially) has suggestions for a
program that makes an easily-created and extractable database. I want to be
able to extract specific data at a number of levels - population, family,
individual, etc.

I've used access (a little) and visual basic foxpro (a lot - and I don't
like the exportation and manipulation of data). I tried a number of queries
on google with little success, though I suspect something is out there.

Thanks!
