POSITION: Visiting Professor of Biology

RESPONSIBILITIES: EMU’s departments of Biology and Chemistry seek an
environmental science professor with a terminal degree in biology. 
Responsibilities include teaching courses in basic ecology and evolutionary
biology with an emphasis on adaptations of animals and plants to their
environment, a course in comparative physiology and animal diversity and a
course on agriculture, microbiology, or the natural history of the local
region.  Courses at EMU emphasize open-ended, question-driven laboratory
experiments, field-work, and research. 

COMPENSATION: Nine-month contract. Salary determined by education and
experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in biology (ABD acceptable).  Experience teaching
is desirable. 

APPOINTMENT DATE: A one year appointment for 2015-16 beginning August 2015,
which could extend to two years.
