Ph.D. fellowship at Dartmouth College to study Arctic food webs

We have a Ph.D. graduate fellowship available to begin as soon as summer 2014
in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Program at Dartmouth College. The
successful candidate will study the structure and environmental responsiveness
of food webs in Arctic ecosystems. Work could involve a comparative study of
ecosystems in Greenland and northern Sweden. Possible topic areas include
effects from outbreaks of insect herbivores, climatic effects on trophic
interactions, and nutrient linkages between terrestrial and aquatic systems.
Requirements include ability to conceive and conduct original research within
the umbrella of a larger project; enthusiasm for international travel, field
biology, and collaboration; and an interest in linkages among ecology,
evolution, ecosystems, and society. The EEB Graduate Program at Dartmouth
College<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~biology/eeb/index.html> is top tier in terms
of intellectual environment, resources for graduate students, and success of
alumni. To initiate an application, email a CV and statement of interest to
Ross Virginia<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~ravirg/index.html> and Matt
Ayres<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~mpayres/>. Applications should be completed by
1 December 2014 using the Dartmouth online
application<http://graduate.dartmouth.edu/>. International applications are
welcome. Please forward this to anyone who might be interested.
