Clinical Assistant Professor position, Arboretum Director and Plant Biologist: West Virginia University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology (http://biology.wvu.edu), to begin January 1, 2015. The successful candidate will be responsible for management and stewardship of the Core Arboretum, teach undergraduate courses in plant biology, and develop an expanded public outreach program for the Arboretum. We seek an individual with a PhD or equivalent degree in ecology, forestry or a plant-related field, excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to teach undergraduate courses in botany, forestry or related fields, translate science for the public, and execute tasks required for Arboretum maintenance.
Clinical Assistant Professors at WVU are eligible for promotion, e.g., to Clinical Associate Professor; however, promotion to senior ranks is not a requirement for institutional commitment and career stability. This position is a full-time nine-month appointment and includes full benefits. Summer work also is expected, with additional compensation.
