Macaulay Honors College, part of the City University of New York, is looking for an adjunct instructor for a Fall 2014 science seminar called Science Forward. It is a 3 credit, non-majors course for sophomores. Science Forward is an active classroom experience that focuses on the common ways that scientists think and work in the context of different fields of science. Our goal is for students to hone their "Science Sense", which is a set of skills that scientists and scientific thinkers possess that allows them to question and evaluate information presented as scientific. These skills include interpreting graphs, making evidence based arguments, designing experiments, and more. The course has a companion video series that is paired with readings from peer-reviewed sources and the popular press.
The course meets at City College on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:45pm. If you are interested, please send CVs to Associate Dean Joseph Ugoretz ([email protected]).
