Please consider presenting at the Joint Aquatic Sciences Meeting 2014
(Portland, Oregon) in our "Cercopagid Invaders" special session (#098).

Session details can be found below or at
http://www.sgmeet.com/jasm2014/sessionschedule.asp?SessionID=098.

The Eurasian cladocerans Bythotrephes longimanus and Cercopagis pengoi have
been invasive in North America since 1982 and 1998, respectively. Their
potential to transform food webs has sparked tremendous research and management
interest. Over 250 publications in the primary literature address B. longimanus
alone, yet significant basic and applied questions remain for both species
including their effects on fish populations, their rates and patterns of
establishment, and the effectiveness of outreach and education protocols to
reduce their spread. Whether the two species have different range expansion
patterns and impacts on food webs in recipient ecosystems also remain open
questions. In this session we invite presentations on B. longimanus or C.
pengoi that present new research or synthesis on the invasive ecology of one or
both species. We plan to end the session with an open discussion regarding
significant unanswered questions and avenues for addressing these areas of need.

Abstracts can be submitted before 23:59 U.S. Central Standard Time on Friday, 7
February 2014 at http://www.sgmeet.com/jasm2014.
