Freshwater Ecologist: The Biology Department at SUNY Fredonia has a tenure track opening at the Assistant Professor level for a freshwater ecologist beginning in the Fall of 2014. Responsibilities include teaching core courses in Biology and Environmental Science, upper level courses in area of specialty and general education courses. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program that involves undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) students and leads to grant applications and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
About the Department: The Biology Department has approximately 350 undergraduate majors, 10 graduate students, 11 full-time faculty, and several adjunct faculty. We offer undergraduate programs in Biology, Molecular Genetics, Medical Technology, Biology Adolescence Education, Exercise Science and a graduate (M.S.) program in Biology. The Department also participates in the interdisciplinary majors in Environmental Sciences and Biochemistry. SUNY Fredonia is ideally located near Lake Erie and the interface of two major North American watersheds, the Great Lakes and the Mississippi basins, with many freshwater lakes and streams in the region.
