PositionTitle: Fall Hawk Migration Counter
Location: Montclair Hawk Lookout, Montclair, NJ

Job Classification: Seasonal, September 1 to
November 30, Full time (40 hour work week) hours may vary.
Job Description: Hawk Counter Fall Migration
Seasonal biologist/ornithologist needed to
conduct survey of migrating birds of prey from September 1 to November 30.
Responsibilities: Duties include identifying and
recording migrating birds of prey, entering data
into the Hawk Migration Association of North
America database, and interacting with the public.
Qualifications:
· Familiarity with hawk migration and
experience identifying all eastern North American raptors is required.
· Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Applicants should have experience
interacting with the public and excellent interpersonal skills.
· Careful data collecting skills a must.
· Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces
and climb multiple steep steps.
· Flexibility to adjust hours to meet
needs of department and organization.
· Transportation necessary to get from
provided housing to count site. This requires a
reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license to operate a vehicle in NJ.
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Housing provided.
