Job opening for Conservation Biologist Tenure Track Assistant Professor at 
Swarthmore College

The Department of Biology at Swarthmore College invites applications for a new 
tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, beginning September 
2014. Applicants should have a Ph.D., teaching experience, and a strong 
commitment to undergraduate education. Post-doctoral experience is desirable. 
Successful candidates should be committed to combining teaching and research at 
a small liberal arts college and will be prepared to contribute to an 
integrative Biology curriculum. They will be expected to establish an 
independent, active research program that will provide opportunities for 
undergraduate participation, and the College offers competitive research 
start-up packages to support faculty research and teaching. In addition, there

We seek a broadly trained conservation biologist whose research and course 
offerings complement those of other faculty in the department. We invite 
applicants who use contemporary methodologies, including computational and/or 
modeling techniques, to study any taxa. Teaching responsibilities include 
participation in a team-taught introductory course, a one-semester course in 
conservation biology with a laboratory and/or field component, and an advanced 
seminar with research projects in the area of the applicant’s interest.
