Postdoctoral position in statistical / climate change / fungal ecology
** Application deadline: June 26, 2013

Please see link below for full information.
Briefly, the successful candidate will collaborate with an international team
of researchers trying to understand
how fungi respond to climate change. The funded project is specifically asking
how climate change may affect
the phenology (temporal fruiting patterns), production (yields of fruit
bodies), distribution of fungal species and
their substrate usage. To answer these questions, the project is using unique
fungal datasets from across Europe,
along with climatic measurements, tree-ring chronologies, and existing
knowledge of the ecology of focal taxa.
In addition, lab and field experiments may be conducted to complement the
observational field studies.

Candidates should have advanced statistical skills and interests in climate
change and fungal ecology. The
position will be based in the Microbial Evolution Research Group (MERG) at the
University of Oslo, but there may
be flexibility on where the postdoc is located and some travel will be required
for collaboration.

Salary: NOK 473,400 – 548,700 per year (roughly equivalent to US$82,000 -
US$95,000) depending on
qualifications and seniority.
Time frame: The position is available immediately and for a period of 34
months.
