Hello,

I’m looking for a motivated undergraduate or recent graduate to assist with
fieldwork in El Yunque National Forest (www.fs.usda.gov/elyunque) on the island
of Puerto Rico this summer (approx. length June-July). The research project
regards tropical tree community ecology and the interplay between traits,
co-existence and rarity. The work will run for 6 days on and 1 day off. The
field conditions may be challenging and will require repetitious measurements
of plants. However, this is a great opportunity for you to gain initial or
additional experience working in a tropical rain forest!

The assistant would be housed at the El Verde Field Station
(https://sites.google.com/a/ites.upr.edu/el-verde-field-station/Home). Airfare,
food and housing are included as are a US$500 a month salary.

If you are interested in the position, please send me an email with your
CV/Resume, previous work/research experience, contact information and also
names, phone numbers and email of 2 references. Previous experience with
plants and/or tropical forests is a plus, but not required.
