Preference will be given to applicants broadly trained in the area of spatial analysis and related emerging technologies. The successful applicant is expected to develop a strong research program in GIScience. Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, big data analytics, high-performance/distributed/cloud computing, mobile computing/location-based services, data mining/knowledge discovery, cyber-based geospatial analysis and modeling, and crowdsourcing/citizen science/VGI. Teaching requirements include an introductory survey course in GIScience and courses in web-enabled geospatial database development and programming.
