The Natural Capital Project and the Latin America Water Funds Platform are developing a tool for targeting investments in watershed conservation. We are seeking experts in the areas of hydrology, watershed management, restoration, water quality, etc. to participate in an expert elicitation survey we are doing as part of the tool development process.
Water funds are an emerging conservation mechanism that matches beneficiaries of watershed services (i.e. water providers that benefit from water supply, water quality regulation, etc.) with opportunities to invest in activities that help to ensure that watersheds continue to provide those services. The idea is to bring a standardized, transferable scientific return on investment basis to the design of this specialized type of payment for ecosystem service program. The tool will be used by about 30 new water funds being developed across Latin America to decide where and in what activities to invest their money. This will take a small amount of time, and we can offer some small reimbursement for your efforts. Please see the attached invitation letter for details and let us know at your earliest convenience if you are willing to participate. Please contact Adrian Vogl ([email protected]) if you are interested or would like more information. We are available at any time to answer your questions if needed before you commit. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you, Heather Tallis Adrian Vogl -- Adrian L.
