Dear all,

We would like to call your attention to the following AGU Fall Meeting session:

B036: Integrating diverse controls on microbial soil organic matter cycling

Our ability to predict the vulnerability of soil carbon stocks to climate
change, land-¬use change and other disturbances is limited by our
understanding of the diverse interactions that control microbial community
structure and function. This session explores methodological and conceptual
advances in investigating abiotic and biotic drivers of carbon cycling in
soils. We invite submissions addressing complex, or multiple, interactions
between microbes, their predators, plant/animal residues, and the soil
environment. We also welcome research on how microbiological data can be
incorporated into models to better understand how changes in microbial
diversity and function influence overall ecosystem biogeochemical cycles.

We are also interested in abstracts that integrate across spatial or
temporal scales.
