2012 Student Subsection of the Education Section of the American Fisheries Society Undergraduate Travel Award The Student Subsection of the Education Section of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) is currently seeking applicants to apply for the 2012 Student Subsection of the Education Section of the American Fisheries Society Undergraduate Travel Award. The Undergraduate Travel Award is designed to introduce undergraduate students to AFS at the Parent Society level and increase participation of undergraduate students in AFS. Undergraduate Travel Awards will be awarded to support undergraduate student attendance at the 2012 annual AFS meeting in Minneapolis, MN, August 19-23, 2012. The Undergraduate Travel Award will provide registration for the annual meeting and membership to the parent society AFS. Selection of awardees will be based on rationale for attending the meeting and professional promise in aquatic sciences and education. Recipients will be expected to attend all student related activities at the annual meeting including, but not limited to, the student colloquium, Education Section and Student Subsection business meetings, and student-mentor social. This award provides a great opportunity for undergraduate students to meet and network with peers and professionals within AFS, and to immerse themselves in aquatic science and research that is being conducted by other society members. Completed applications must be received no later than July 27, 2012. Applicants must be an undergraduate at the time of the Annual Meeting. Applicants who anticipate graduating prior to the Annual Meeting will not be considered.
