Proposals are being accepted through May 25, 2012, for $75,000 in
partnership funds to help start new projects aimed at recruting citizen
volunteers to help monitor plants, animals, lakes and other Wisconsin
natural resources.

Since 2004, DNR and Wisconsin?s ?Citizen-Based Monitoring Partnership
Program? have sought to expand citizen and volunteer participation in
natural resource monitoring by providing funding and technical assistance
to high priority projects. During that time, 178 projects have received
assistance, and in turn have provided significant cost savings for the
state since partners typically provide three times as much in funding and
donated time.

Qualifying topics include monitoring of aquatic and terrestrial species,
natural communities, and environmental components such as water, soil and
air. Funding proposals are limited to $4,999.

Application guidelines -- including funding priorities -- and budget forms
are available on the Wisconsin Citizen-based Monitoring Network
Partnership Program website http://wiatri.net/CBM/Partnership/

Proposals are due by 5 p.m, Friday May 25, 2012. Award notifications will
be made by June 8th and funding will be available from July 1, 2012 to
June 20, 2013.
