Environmental Scientist

Bard College seeks an environmental scientist for a full-time position on
the Faculty of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy (Bard CEP). This
position is for a three-year term, renewable upon review for successive
three-year terms. Responsibilities include teaching a year-long course in
environmental science in the M.S. degree program in Environmental Policy,
along with one additional course each year. Other responsibilities include
advising Master’s theses and serving on faculty committees.


The science sequence is part of a modular, integrated core curriculum with
concurrent courses in environmental economics and environmental policy and
law. A commitment to interdisciplinary teaching is essential. Bard CEP
trains leaders in environmental policy, with the knowledge to assess and
advance sustainable practices in resource management, agriculture, economic
policy, and business. Faculty members in CEP are expected to be actively
engaged in research and other professional activities appropriate to a
graduate program in environmental policy.
