The Monteverde Butterfly Garden is seeking volunteers! We are an environmental
education center located in Monteverde, Costa Rica that specializes in insects
and spiders. We have a year-round need for volunteer tour guides, who educate
the public about these fascinating creatures. As a guide you are expected to
give 1 to 4 tours each day, help at reception, and perform general maintenance
of the facility. During the tours you are encouraged to handle insects (though
it is not absolutely required) and express enthusiasm for your subject. In
exchange, we can offer housing and food for three volunteers. This is a great
opportunity for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to get more
experience with arthropod natural history and taxonomy.
