We fundraised $5000 to purchase a plot of cloud forest that is for sale by a

We currently are updating our website with acknowledgements and will soon have 
our yearly totals compiled. Last year we averaged $60 per donation and the most 
commonly donated amount was $10! We are proving that conservation can occur 
with dedication and just a little bit of money!! No amount of support is too

Class Visits
This year two different classes studying tropical ecology visited us. Contact 
us ([email protected]) if you would like more details on how to organize a 
class visit to La MICA Biological Station.
 
RIO Program
We had several students participate in our RIO Program this year. Contact us 
([email protected]) if you would like more information on how to gain 
experience in the tropics, either for university credit or personal experience.
 
What’s Next?
We continue to make improvements to La MICA and conduct maintenance. Right now 
we are fundraising for:

A new shower building ($500 for cement and labor)
Land purchases for conservation ($5000 for current plot)
Trail improvement ($300 for labor)
Continued conservation-oriented research (grants and any sized donation for 
people like you)
Scholarships for students (any sized donation from people like you)
