Dear ecologgers, we are excited to announce a new initiative with the aim of
creating a global network of what we call next-generation ecologists. The
International Network of Next-Generation Ecologists (INNGE, [*in-jee*]) is
especially aimed towards the growing population of early-career ecologists.

INNGE was initiated by early career ecologists active in five ecological
societies, based on three continents. A main priority of INNGE is to further
strengthen national and regional societies, and facilitate linkages between
them that otherwise would not be made.

To learn more about innge please visit our recently launched website (
http://www.innge.net). On the website you will also find an inaugural
article from the most recent INTECOL e-bulletin (
http://innge.net/files/INTECOL_e-Bulletin_Jun_2011.pdf, it starts on page
3).

We invite anyone interested in participating in the activities of INNGE to
join our mailing list as well as our Facebook and Linked-In group, and last
but not least to follow us on Twitter. Information on how to do this can be
found here: http://innge.net/?q=node/9.

If we are to succeed with our ambitious aim we need everyone interested to
get involved. Early career initiatives are still lacking in many ecological
societies, in addition to regions that are not yet covered by an ecological
society (see a map here: http://innge.net/?q=node/7)

Best wishes,

the INNGE working group (http://innge.net/?q=node/6)
